Three more PGA Tour Champions golfers have committed to the Sanford International. 2009 Masters champion Angel Cabrera, Fred Funk and Kirk Triplett have all signed up for the event, which is slated for Sept. 7-13 at Minnehaha Country Club.
Cabrera, who also won the 2007 US Open, won the Masters Tournament in a three-way sudden-death playoff, defeating Chad Campbell in the first playoff and Kenny Perry in the second. He was also a member of the international team in the Presidents Cup from 2005-2009 and again in 2013.
A nine-time winner on the PGA Tour Champions with three major championships, Funk was a member of the United States teams at the 2003 and 2005 Presidents Cup and the 2004 Ryder Cup. In 2005, he became the oldest player to capture The Players Championship at 48.
Triplett has 17 professional wins throughout his 35-year career. He tied for seventh at last year’s Sanford International en route to a top 10 finish in the final Charles Schwab Cup standings.
