Hy-Vee recalls 13 salad mixes as feds investigate outbreak

A federal inspection into foodborne illness in the Midwest has prompted Hy-Vee to recall more than a dozen of its store-brand salad mixes across the region, including in Sioux Falls. 

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have increased their investigate a cyclospora outbreak in the region, which prompted the Iowa-based grocery chain’s decision to recall several of its bagged salad products, according to a Saturday announcement from the company.

“Customers who purchased any of these products should discard them or return them to their local Hy-Vee store for a full refund,” company leadership said in the emailed announcement.
